Linktree isn't just a list of links any more
Linktree pioneered link in bio, and it hasn't stood still. On its current plans you'll find contact forms and surveys, free digital products that ask for a name and email before the download, bookings on every plan, Kajabi-powered courses, Instagram auto-replies and, on Premium, social scheduling. If you've read an older "Linktree can't do that" post (we wrote one ourselves), a lot of it is out of date.
So the useful question isn't "can Linktree do it?" It's "is a general-purpose tool the best shape for a coaching business?"
What a coach's page actually needs
A coach's bio link has one job: turn a stranger who liked a Reel into an enquiry you can follow up. That takes three things on one page.
- Trust. Who you are and whether your clients get results. FittBio embeds a Loom intro video at the top of your profile and a transformation gallery below it, so the proof sits right next to the call to action.
- A proper intake. A Typeform-style lead form asks one question at a time (goal, training history, days per week) and every answer lands in your dashboard instead of your DMs. Linktree has forms too; ours are built around a coaching enquiry rather than a generic contact form.
- A reason to leave an email. An email-gated freebie such as a meal plan or a four-week starter programme, with the file emailed to the visitor. Need ideas? See lead magnet ideas for fitness coaches.
One plan vs four tiers
Linktree splits its features across Free, Starter, Pro and Premium. Analytics start on Starter, selling digital products needs Pro, and data export and all-time analytics sit on Premium. FittBio has one plan. You build the whole page free, then it's $7.99/mo when you publish, with forms, free downloads and analytics included. There's no free plan and no free trial, but you see the finished page before you pay, and you can cancel any time from Settings.
Consent, done the boring-but-right way
Under UK GDPR and PECR, downloading your freebie isn't permission to email someone your offers. On FittBio, every free download has a separate, unticked marketing opt-in. You see and export the people who ticked it; everyone else still gets the file by email, so nobody ends up chasing you for it. Linktree lets you switch on a mailing-list opt-in per form. On FittBio it's always there.
Switching without starting again
FittBio can import your Linktree. Paste your handle and it brings over your links, thumbnails, social icons, profile photo and bio. Locked and paid items can't come across automatically, so you'll recreate those. Build it, check it, and only pay when you publish.
The verdict
If you want a free page, bookings and courses under one login, or you're more creator than coach, Linktree is a good choice. If your page is meant to fill your coaching diary, FittBio is built for exactly that. Personal trainer? Start with FittBio for personal trainers. Still shopping around?
